Semantic web meets frontend-awesomeness

Frontend editing is a hot topic at the moment. With the HTML5 content-editable, there is no longer any excuse to reload a page in edit mode and render forms on server side. And even less to use the iframe mess of traditional WYSIWYG editors. One excellent frontend editing project is create.js. Its main strength is to use RDF annotations in HTML (RDFa) to explain the semantic structure of your content. Then you load create.js and tell it what editors to use for your entities. Storage happens based on backbone.js, the server backend is easy to implement.

Kinect and Processing

At a recent Liip Hackday, i worked with the Microsoft Kinect Depth Sensor. I took Processing Simple-OpenNI and added the "push" and "swipe" detectors. To install the processing openni library, you first need the Kinect drivers, OpenNI and NITE. We were successful with the guide of SensorKinect. Then you get the trunk version from google code.

Recently, one of our customers had a problem with google analytics. When he opened his web site with the Site Overlay feature, he just got his normal web site with no overlayed user data. The first thing to notice when trying it myself (with Firefox) was that javascript stops with an error.
